“I would highly recommend Conor Nolan as a speaker to any School or College. In fact, as a teacher with nearly 20 years experience, I feel it is essential to have young inspirational speakers visit our schools/colleges each year as it is so important for young students to have an understanding and know the best tools to use when looking after your mental health and how to build up resilience. Conor I can promise you has resilience by the bucket load and he can really help his listeners dig deep and realise they have it too. All our students could relate to him in so many ways, and that alone was gold dust”

Radio Presenter @ Dublin City FM

“Normal is such a powerful read. Through his conversations with the Stranger we get an insight into Conor’s struggles with his mental health throughout his adolescence. The conversation moves through topics such as the social hierarchies in teenage friendships, the challenges of living in rural Ireland, and the pressures both internal and external that so many teens struggle with. The topic of anorexia in young men, which is so rarely spoken of, is also very sensitively covered. Most importantly Conor writes in such a relatable way as he brings us along on his journey to find the strength to be true to himself. I would highly recommend this book to all parents of teens and would encourage teachers to bring it into their secondary school classrooms, where it could open very valuable conversations about mental health and hope for the future.”
